Acushnet Holdings Company is a U.S. based company focused on the golf market. The company operates a series of brands that manufacture golf equipment, clothing and accessories. Brands include Titleist, FootJoy, and Scotty Cameron.

CHALLENGE

Every two years Titleist introduces a new version of their golf ball. The product is initially introduced through a mail campaign to club professionals prior to placement in retail. Titleist prides itself on being a “cosmetic” brand that sells golf balls and therefore puts an emphasis on having their packaging mirror the high quality and value of their brands. Titleist was looking for a partner that could meet that need and provide a turnkey solution.

SOLUTION

BCI presented the levitation box as a unique concept for the introduction of the ProV 1 and ProV 1X golf balls. The package was perceived as high value with a unique unboxing experience. BCI was also challenged to meet the color standards of the “piano black” finish which was duplicated in direct print on Kemi material. BCI also managed the assembly, fulfillment and drop shipping of the program which included managing over $500k of customer inventory. BCI was able to provide a turnkey, total cost solution.

RESULTS

This item was used as a marketing piece (not retail sales). All reports were positive on the execution and it was well received by the industry professionals.
