The BCI Wooster team recently joined businesses, community members, and supporters for the 17th Annual Charity Cornhole Tournament benefiting Akron Rotary Camp for Children with Special Needs.

BCI was proud to serve as the event’s premier sponsor, helping support a record-breaking year that brought together more than 60 teams and set a new high for funds raised.

Competition, Community and a Great Cause

The annual tournament combines friendly competition with an important mission: supporting programs that give children and adults with disabilities opportunities to experience camp, build friendships, develop independence, and enjoy activities designed around their individual needs.

Akron Rotary Camp has served children with disabilities since 1924. Today, the organization offers overnight children’s camp for ages 6–17, adult camp for participants 18 and older, and day camp for campers ages 6–21.

Campers represent a wide range of disabilities and needs, including autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, Down syndrome, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, blindness, learning disabilities, mental health disorders, and multiple diagnoses.

For the BCI Wooster team, supporting the tournament was an opportunity to help an organization that has made a meaningful difference for individuals and families throughout the region for more than a century.

Generosity Beyond the Tournament

One of the most memorable moments of the event came away from the cornhole boards.

BCI’s Kelli Hacker won the auction’s top prize—a new bicycle. After learning that one of the camp counselors was a college student who needed transportation to get around campus, Kelli chose to donate the bike to the counselor.

It was a simple gesture that captured the spirit of the day: people coming together, looking for ways to help, and making a difference where they can.

Proud to Be Part of the Wooster Community

At BCI, being part of a community means more than doing business there. It means supporting the organizations, programs, and people that help make that community stronger.

The Wooster team’s participation in this year’s tournament reflects that commitment and the same spirit of teamwork and generosity BCI employees bring to their work every day.
