BCI Acquires The Lakeside Container Corporation

On March 31, 2022, BCI acquired the Lakeside Container Corporation (known as Lakeside Container). The new BCI Lakeside Division located in Plattsburgh, NY, was started in 1958 by the Bouyea Family who needed boxes to transport goods from its renowned bakery business to the New York and New England markets. Incorporated in 1962 as Lakeside Container Corporation, what started as an entrepreneurial packaging solution for transporting fresh baked bread, “Lakeside” was built into a full-fledged corrugated packaging company by George Bouyea and Paige Bouyea Raville, who owned the company before selling it to BCI.
Their culture is very similar to ours focusing on people, customer satisfaction, creating value and generating profits. These and other attributes make it one of the leading independent sheet plants serving the upstate NY and Vermont markets. Lakeside ships approximately 85 million square feet per year, while employing over 30 associates.
BCI Lakeside Division will join our New York Region sister plants in expanding the BCI footprint to the East serving Vermont and neighboring states. This market expansion provides us with greater presence and new opportunities for profit and growth.
