Position Purpose:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the production floor though supervision, development, and training of the production team. Also responsible for the safety of associates while efficiently manufacturing product through the plant with unparalleled emphasis on quality and timeliness. this is a salaried position with bonus eligibility.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below:

  • Full-time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting.
  • Follows and enforces established safety rules, quality standards, policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Direct supervision of production staff including recruiting, training, and developing associates through coaching and disciplinary actions.
  • Uses a Customer Driven approach to achieve KPI targets and engage associates in the improvement process (i.e. production quality, output, processes and efficiencies).
  • Promotes and leads a team focus towards continuous improvement in safety, productivity, waste, and quality improvement.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing associates on the use of all equipment and safety protocols.
  • Facilitates production plan by establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising production schedules, resolving problems and reporting results or issues.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, budgetary and personnel requirements.
  • Maintains timekeeping and personnel records for all direct reports through a workforce management software.
  • Maintains efficient workflows by monitoring processes and variables; implements cost reductions; develops reporting procedures and systems.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; assists in troubleshooting machine issues.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
  • Assists with hands-on operation of machines, including operating and feeding large press machines that requires a full awareness of surroundings, machine pinch points and safety protocols.
  • Operate forklift, as needed, in tight spaces with PIT and Pedestrian interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skill Set:
• Proficient in lean methods
• Proficient in Amtech job costing module
• Proficient in Amtech RPM module
• Strong communication skills and mentoring skills
• Ability to accurately and thoroughly maintain documentation

Qualifications Desired:
• High school diploma / GED
• Experience in the corrugated packaging industry highly preferred
• Certified forklift operator
• Working knowledge of all production machines, plant equipment and operations
• Results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment
• Demonstrates aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Drives results through others
• Assertive leader who holds self and others accountable
