Position Purpose:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the production floor though supervision, development and training of the production team. In addition, it is responsible for the efficient movement of product through the plant with a focus on quality and timeliness. Reports to the Plant Manager.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm (possibly till 3:30PM pm, when necessary)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below:
- Follows established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times
- Directs supervision of production staff including recruiting, selecting, training and developing associates through coaching and disciplinary actions
- Maintains efficient workflows by monitoring processes and variables; implements cost reductions; develops reporting procedures and systems
- Completes production plan by establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising production schedules, resolving problems and reporting results or issues
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; assists in troubleshooting machine issues
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests
- Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, budgetary and personnel requirements
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing associates on the use of all equipment and safety protocols
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications
- Assists with hands-on operation of machines, including operating and feeding large press machines that requires a full awareness of surroundings, machine pinch points, and safety protocols
- Operate forklift, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Full-time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting
Skill Set:
- Proficient in lean methods
- Proficient in Amtech job costing module
- Proficient in Amtech RPM module
- Strong communication skills and mentoring skills
Qualifications Desired:
- 5 years of experience as a production supervisor or manager
- Experience in the corrugated packaging industry, highly preferred
- Certified forklift operator
- General knowledge of all production machines and processes
- High school diploma / GED
